T-Minus One Week!

Well - we're now in the one-week count-down.  All is well - except we still don't have our Princess medallions.  We have the medallion wrist bands, but not the medallions.  Princess "claims" the medallions were shipped and show as having arrived on December 4 (but the only thing that arrived on December 4 was the bands).  We'll see.  If the medallions don't show up before we leave, we'll just have to get them at the cruise terminal in Sydney the day we leave for the cruise portion of our trip.

In the meantime, I've been feeling a bit festive - it IS December after all.  And so, I took it upon myself to do a "Night Before Christmas" parody about our trip.  It just about sums up where we are in our preparations for next week.  Enjoy!

The Week Before Traveling

‘Twas the week before travel and throughout our abode

The pre-packing continued, in slightly panicked mode.

The carry-on items were laid out just so,

In hopes nothing urgent was forgotten – oh no!

 
From toothpaste to cables, all packaged and neat,
To papers and schedules all stored in a heap.
Each item accounted and weighed out with purity
So they’d pass airport muster and sail through security.
 
When what to our wandering plans should appear
But the final cruise notice: “You soon will be here!”
With currency waiting and passports a-ready,
The feel of adventure is getting quite heady!
 
Away to the airport we’ll drive like a flash,
To fly o’er the ocean and spend lots of cash!
And as we count down to our coming departure
And nothing is left ‘cept to enjoy our adventure,
I find myself saying, with joy and with wonder –
“This time next week, we’ll both be “down under!”
